Nigel Clarke

Another Classic Night Of Bar Room Rock 'n' Roll with

The Mighty

Dan Baird and Homemade Sin

Plus 'Very' Special Guests !!!

Another coup for us !!!

The main man from 'cult' Rockers The Georgia Satelites plays The Gassienda with his new(ish) band

Homemade Sin.

Runka, runka, three chords and a cloud of dust. The Georgia Satellites were one of the most ferocious bands of the 80’s and what set them apart from the other 10,000 groups who cranked their amps up to 11 was that their wild riffs and tanked cries came from a band that, from the start, understood it’s place in rock tradition and fought hard to solidify it with each recording.

Big hits such as the classic 'kissy huggy' song 'Keep Your Hands To Yourself' and 'Battleship Chains' brought the band to the attention of the UK rock ''n roll scene. Albums sold, gigs were played and cold beers were drunk on many a wild tour of Blighty !!!

If ya wanna experience a real live proper American Rock 'n' Roll Band this is your chance.

Friday 19th December

The Gassienda Christmas Cracker

'Don't Let The Bells End'

with the UK's Sexiest all

Girl Rock 'n' Roll Band

Out Of Embers

Out Of Embers are a four piece rock band based in the U.K. The band emerged in 2008 from the rollercoaster come train crash that was The Tommys with guitarist Stevie Shepperson joined by Lozzy Bennett (Helen Keller) on bass and Chelsea Bishop (Swallow) on drums. Long term friend Kat Upton (Idle Silver) then joined to complete the line-up. The girls have over 2000 live performances between them and will be coming to a venue near you soon. Stand back!

Look what the press have said..........

"Easy on the eye they certainly are, but upon hearing them any doubts are blown away. Full of attitude, their songs are powered on crunching riffs and the bittersweet vocals of Stevie Shepperson. They blast through their set with a swagger and confidence which only comes when you've a combined 2000 gigs between your members, with the pick of the bunch being the killer anthem 'Mesmerise'. This four piece could very well be gate-crashing the male dominated British rock scene very soon."

"Music today is filled with mediocrity. Band after band endlessly trying to churn out their 15 songs to get the kids dancing, singing and loving them, even though these 15 songs have been written by the other 30 bands that come before them that year. Out of Embers are NOT one of these bands. Raw music, coming from raw talent, these 4 girls take music back to where it should be. No fancy synthesizers, no mediocre hooks, no image to focus on, nothing to distract anyone from the music. This band could go a long way. Out of Embers do one thing. Rock."

Also on the show we have the fantastic

The Last 43

They rock, they roll they are outta control. Tattoos a go go with these Rock 'n' Roll Outlaws !! Now boasting their very attractive new vocalist Amy !!!

Thursday 17th April 2008

John Power

(The La's and Cast).

From the 'legendary' Liverpool band The La's and later of Cast. John Power will be playing a solo acoustic show. Which will feature his new material as well as some tracks by The La's and Cast.

The La's have been cited as one of the most influential bands to come out of Liverpool since The Beatles. Their one and only album became a bench mark for class indie pop prior to the 'Britpop' explosion. After the demise of The La's, he went on to take charge of Cast, a formidable live four-piece with whom he’d sell bewildering amounts of records (1995’s All Change was famously the biggest and fastest selling debut album in the history of the Polydor label). Whether on the charts, on magazine covers or headlining at the Glastonbury festival, Power the pop star was a phenomenon that lasted four long-players until 2002.

But he is back now with a new album and as he says

“These are the most comfortable, wind-in-my-sails recordings I’ve done,” he states. “It’s folk music, grassroots music. I could only have written this now, ‘cos I think you need a certain amount of living to write certain things, y’know? I feel like I’m only just starting to write and play the guitar.

Support comes from Ryan Madden of Keighley band The Angel Chain Diaries.

This was quite possibly the most famous gig ever in Keighley except maybe when AC/DC played here! So to celebrate this occaision as well the 30th anivesary of the release of 'Never Mind The Bollocks'. So 'Spike falls off buffet' syndrome could have been due to lack of food and copious amounts of alcohol !! The punters who came from far and wide had a good time and really they do have a future as a comedy duo. They are very, very funny together !!

One UK Rock Mag had this to say about them !!!!

'New York Alcoholic Anxiety Attack are, without a shadow of a doubt, the most brilliant, intense, innovative and authentic live band around today; they are a passionate breath of fresh air amongst today's pallid armies of limp pop wannabes and crass imitation metal-copyists.' Bomb City.

Support for this show comes from Metal Mutha's

Honeytoad.

Who certainly know a thing a about laying down the law when it comes to guitar histrionics. Louder than a Boeing 747 and twice as nice to fly in !!!
